Growing from this Place Subject: To have a victorious life, you have to grow
In this week’s edition of Growing from this Place Bible Study, Pastor Jonathan McKnight focuses on the concept of growing. He first elaborates on the term growing by providing its definition as means to set the tone for the points he was going to establish later on in the study.
Growing – get bigger; grow in size; increase; pass a present condition. (Of a living thing) undergo natural development by increasing in size and changing physically; progress to maturity; to become larger or greater over a period of time.
Soon after the definition of growing was established, Pastor McKnight takes at the look at the word grow, and provides a breakdown of it from a spiritual perspective.
G – to give yourself and some time to you God because its the right thing to do, but never give with the wrong intention.
R – to realize the Law of Life, which is change that promotes growth and revelation.
O – to overcome obstacles, which are opportunities to see miracles come forth and to be birthed.
W – to make wise choices and make sure you are connected the right way. Analyze the choices you make because you can’t grow spiritually if you don’t.
For his closing remarks, Pastor McKnight extends his elaboration of growing by providing five essential points to abide by if we should want grow successfully in life and in God. He states,
- Serve God.
- Forgive. You have to grow pass what has already happened in your life. God will remove the old to make room for the new, but you have to remember to forget the past.
- Love yourself and others. In spite of all our flaws, God is still manifesting in our lives. He still loves us.
- Make wise choices. We have to be accountable and responsible for what God has already given us in order to grow and increase.
- Give. God gave good to us, so we should give good to God to others and not just on Good Friday
