Prayer Thought of the Month

September – Prayer is one of Satan’s worst enemies.

The war between God/Jesus/the Holy Ghost and Satan, is a war that has been waged far beyond the course of man’s lifetime and even stretches further than man’s comprehension of time. In the original war between good and evil, the lines have been drawn and it’s been clearly established who the players are and their roles in the many battles that have already transpired, are happening now and those that have yet to come over the constitution of man’s submission to either entity.

Jesus plainly identified who the players are and what their intentions are for man in the Word of God when it states,

7) Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep [man]. 8) All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10) The thief [Satan] cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus] am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11) I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

John 10:7-11 – King James Version

Ever since the beginning of mankind and especially the Christian faith, Satan has always and will forever be our biggest enemy. For those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, Satan has been, no pun intended, hell bent on making our lives as miserable as possible so that we would renounce God, live life on our own terms and essentially miss out on His blessings, but most importantly, a chance at everlasting life.

However, we serve an awesome God who has equipped us with many tools to counteract anything and everything that Satan tries to put in our paths to destroy us. These tools that we have at our disposal, established through the power of Jesus Christ, serve as enemies to Satan’s plans to knock us out of the Will of God and to keep us from receiving eternal life. One of the most essential tools that we have in combating Satan’s arsenal is prayer.

As long as we stay in consistent communication with God through prayer, we can receive strength, wisdom, understanding and strategies on how to dodge, deflect and destroy any of Satan’s tactics for disrupting our faith and belief in God and the promises of God. Rest assured that you can combat Satan’s antics through praise and worship, through faith and fasting, but what keeps you solid, grounded, and more equipped for battling our enemy’s attacks, is the undeniable force and power of prayer.
