I Didn’t Keep the Receipt

Pastor Jonathan McKnight delivers a powerful message of love that encourages us to appreciate the value of Jesus not keeping the receipt of His sacrifice for our sins. Throughout out our lives, we’ve come across people who have done things for us only as a means to hang what they’ve done over our heads later on in life. They constantly reminded us what they’ve done, even if it was something small, just so that they can keep some level of control over our movements. It’s as if they were keeping receipts for what they’ve done. However, unlike these types of people, when Jesus died for our sins, He did keep a receipt of His sacrifice towards us, and we’ve seen this time and time again when He forgives us of our sins that we repeatedly made due to struggling with them. His grace and love always shines brightly over us in the midst of faults, failures, and shortcomings. And we should be forever grateful that He does not hold a receipt against us from when we’ve done something wrong, especially when He knows we’re doing our best to live right.
