Prayer Thought of the Month

November – Prayer is the advantage over adversity.

Let’s be honest. Life is not easy. However, it can be a lot more tolerable and manageable with God’s guidance through prayer.

As you go through life (Christian or not), it has an unmatched way of providing you with its fair share of trials, tribulations, oppositions and adversities. It seems as though that with every small feats of success you achieve, life tends to follow it with an even greater obstacle that often sets you back, practically overshadowing any success you’ve obtained.

We’ve all heard the comments. “If it isn’t one thing, it’s another.” “Every time I take one step forward, I get knocked three steps backwards.” With these lines, little do most people know, that when making such comments, you’re actually putting yourself at an even greater disadvantage at overcoming your adversities as opposed to conquering them through prayer.

Through prayer, God will supply you with peace of mind and a change of perspective when faced with a challenge or multiple challenges. You will unlock His divine wisdom and understanding which in turn, will help you to view your oppositions as opportunities for Him to display His power and glory through your ability to trust Him in overcoming them.

In the book 1 John, the Lord expresses firmly in His word that,

8) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John 4:4 – King James Version

To simply put it, no matter what you face, no matter how great the adversity may appear, the God in you that you maintain through prayer, will always be greater. Any attack that comes to put you at a disadvantage will not stand a chance against the advantage that you will possess through God in prayer.
