Meditation, much like prayer, is a unique tool for connecting with God. Unlike prayer (where you are generally talking to God), meditation, in the spiritual sense, is a special opportunity for you to not only reflect on the goodness of God, but most importantly for God to talk to you.
It is an essential component for building and maintaining a stronger relationship with God, discovering His purpose for your life and unlocking your true potential to overcome any challenge Satan tries to put in your path. Through mediating on God’s word, His unfeigned love that He has shown towards you, and the blessings He has bestowed upon you through your ability to trust in Him, you will be able to sustain an unwavering sense of peace and joy while in the midst of chaotic situations and overwhelming circumstances.
(6) Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (7) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (8) Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, thing (meditate) on these things. (9) Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. — Philippians 4:6–9
